Managing Director | Ziggo Sport/Ziggo Sport Totaal
Will Moerer has been working in the sport tv business as from 1995. Starting his career as a legal counsel for pay tv operators FilmNet and Canal+ in the Netherlands, he ended up in a general manager role in Canal+ in the late nineties.
In 2002 he founded with his partner Kees Jansma a sport production company WK Producties, which went through an enormous development, working for various broadcasters in the Netherlands, both public and private. In 2005 WK Producties was sold to Dutch TV Production company Eyeworks.
Moerer stayed at Eyeworks, running the sport production unit for another 5 years and then made the next step, back to the broadcast side of the business, joining Liberty Global as the General Manager of the pay tv channels Film1 and Sport1. After the sale of Film1 to Sony, Liberty Global, also the owner of the biggest cable operator Ziggo in the Netherlands, decided to change the sport product concept in 2015 and transformed Sport1 into a free to air channel Ziggo Sport and pay tv product Ziggo Sport Totaal.
